Argentario Sailing Week, 13th to 17th of June 2018

Argentario Sailing Week, 13th to 17th of June 2018

Argentario Sailing Week

We are at the door of the event that officially inaugurates the summer in Monte Argentario.

The winds of June rise, and the main square of Porto Santo Stefano comes alive. Dozens and dozens of sailing boats arrive to occupy the Arena del Turchese (the mirror of water in front of the main square) and along its perimeter are almost ready a lot of stands that will illuminate the 5 days of the event.

History.

It was 1992 when the Yacht Club Santo Stefano gave life to the regatta called “Vele d’Argento”. From here, thanks to the passion and skills of the organizers, a tradition has begun and today it is one of the most important events of the year. In 1998 the name was changed to “Prada Sailing Week” and since 1999 the title “Argentario Sailing Week” has become official.

From June 13th, about 50 boats, divided into 5 categories, will compete in one of the best courses in the Mediterranean Sea. Classic sailing boats will alternate vintage ones for a unique show in the regatta course delimited by: Porto S. Stefano, the Giannella beach, the Grosseto’s Island named Formiche, Talamone and the Giglio island.

Panerai Classic Yacht Challenge

The Argentario Sailing Week is one of the stages of the sporting competition promoted by the Florentine brand of fine watchmaking: Officine Panerai.

Now in its 14th edition, the Panerai Classic Yachts Challenge will reach Porto Santo Stefano after having inaugurated the race in Antibes (France) on May 30th.

Will you be there?
